- For college graduates looking to gain exposure to the private markets industry while developing strong technical skills in data analytics and business intelligence, this role offers hands-on experience working with Python, Power BI, and data-driven reporting tools.
- Junior Analysts will build expertise in data collection, validation, and analytics, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders (including General Partners) to support investment monitoring and reporting efforts. The role emphasizes scalable data processes, automation, and dashboard-driven insights.
- Opportunity to work with and contribute to StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (“SPAR”) team supporting Real Estate operations, with teams located in Cleveland, Ohio and La Jolla, CA.
- This is a full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity for a 16-week period, with the possibility to extend or transition into a permanent role.
Data Collection, Validation & External Coordination
- Collect, process, and validate investment data from General Partners (GPs)
- Communicate directly with external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Develop repeatable workflows for data ingestion, validation, and quality control using Python
Analytics & Dashboard Development
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI for internal and client reporting
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable visualizations
- Optimize data models and reporting performance using Power BI and DAX
Data Processing & Automation
- Use Python (pandas, NumPy, etc.) to clean, transform, and analyze large datasets
- Automate data processing and reporting workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
- Work with SQL and Excel to manage and manipulate structured datasets
Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with internal teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven insights
- Support the development of standardized reporting frameworks and templates
- Contribute to improving internal data infrastructure and reporting processes
- Analyze fund and portfolio performance trends across sectors and geographies
- Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests
- Assist in enhancing internal analytics tools and capabilities
