As part of StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (“SPAR”) team, the Junior Analyst will be responsible for the execution and oversight of periodic (e.g., quarterly) reporting processes and systems, providing timely and accurate reporting primarily to external clients. The Junior Analyst will work closely with senior SPAR team members and all relevant departments to support client reporting needs and the Department/Firm at large.
Essential Job Functions- Use performance reporting systems and analytics dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI) to compile accurate and timely reports for external clients
- Actively collaborate with various SPAR Client Teams to obtain all necessary information required for completion of deliverables, compiling final information in a manner consistent with SPAR’s global reporting master template standards
- Assist in execution and oversight of the full lifecycle of periodic reporting processes, ensuring proper data practices and methodologies are applied
- Remain organized while adjusting to competing demands, aiming to beat rather than meet deadlines
- Assist in developing and maintaining new and enhanced data-related content for client deliverables
- Become relied upon as a “domain expert” by developing a deep understanding of reporting tools, industry best practices and proprietary reporting systems
- Must be curious, willing to innovate and can create novel approaches on a day-to-day basis
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Intelligence or Data Analytics related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience; Private Markets experience preferred
- Prior experience with the use of data analysis and performance reporting
- Record of accomplishment of projects demonstrating value-add initiatives
- Experience with performance reporting software and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Excel, Jira, Power Pivot and Tabular Models
- Extremely strong attention to detail
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast-changing environment, and working independently
- Inquisitive and intellectually curious, able to independently learn recent technologies, skills, and industry standards
- Progress towards obtaining a relevant professional designation such as CFA or CAIA is a plus
