POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Accountant position is responsible for functioning in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and will perform the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES:
- Process Direct Orders;
- Process Credit & Rebill transactions to correct customer billings;
- Work with filed on claims processed with Carrier and perform monthly accruals;
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Calculate monthly and ad hoc journal entries
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements;
- Assist with month end closing process;
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley testing and compliance;
- Other responsibilities as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 1-2 years of experience or currently holds an Associate’s degree in accounting or finance with 5-7 years of experience;
- Extensive hands on experience with the responsibilities/duties listed above;
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel and Word;
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality with regard to the information that is processed;
- Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other corporate team members and operational team members;
- Ability to work well under pressure and within short deadlines; and
- Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
