Location: Chicago or Boston (Hybrid)

About the position

As a Junior Accountant at Showpad, you will be a key member of a dynamic, international finance team. You will own core accounting tasks such as cash reconciliations, fixed asset management, journal entries, and month-end close processes. You will also support the Accountant and Accounting Manager with monthly closings, expense report reviews, and accounts payable. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities as Junior Accountant at Showpad

  • Take the lead in cash reconciliations for multi companies and banks
  • Post Prepaid expenses and track them within the system for accuracy of the postings
  • Fixed asset management, depreciation and amortization entries
  • Assist the Accountant/Accounting Manager in the monthly closings and prepare Journal entries/set up and post  accruals 
  • Make the 7 day close deadline with reconciliations,Journal entries, and other task given for the close process
  • Review expense reports + analysis of expenses on a monthly basis
  • Post payroll accruals and actuals for the month
  • Month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Back up to Accounts Payable
  • Back up for the PO process and expense report process

Skills and Qualifications we are looking for

  • Associates degree or equivalent in Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Previous experience of general accounting
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Technical accounting skills (Netsuite, Excel, …)
  • Flexible
  • Problem solving skills
  • Like to work in a great team in a fast paced organisation
  • Eager to learn, willing to have impact on a company, be more than a bookkeeper,...
