Harbor is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our growing team. As a Junior Accountant, you'll be responsible for recording journal entries, handling accruals, and managing accounts receivable and payable. You'll also oversee the monthly payroll for company employees and generate monthly progress reports. This role operates across global locations including the U.S., Canada, and the UK, reporting to the Controller and assisting with client invoicing for acquired entities worldwide. We are looking for someone based in the Philippines that can work 9:00am - 5:00pm EST (9:00pm PHT - 5:00am PHT).
Your Responsibilities:
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Works closely with the accounting group in reconciliation issues under tight deadlines
- Assist in month-end closing procedures and other accounting tasks as assigned
- Receive, verify, and process bills from vendors, ensuring proper allocation to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Assist with monthly close and reconcile bank accounts as necessary
- Prepare client invoices in accounting software across all legal entities with supporting documentation; submit invoices to customers
- Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role
- Graduate in accounting or related field
- Experience with NetSuite or similar software is a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel skills
- Experience with Bill.com is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
- Ability to take initiative and work proactively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Deadline and performance driven
- Detail oriented, efficient, and accurate
