We are currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Finance team. The selected candidate will report to the Senior Finance Operations Analyst and will support the accounting department by assisting with various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. This role also includes supporting accounting duties for our sister company, FrontAd Media Inc. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of accounting experience and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

This is a full-time, junior-level position. We are located in Santa Clara, California and are looking for local candidates only. Please note that telecommuting is not allowed. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship will be offered.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle accurate recording of transactions while adhering to accounting standards.
  • Work with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting reports and documentation.
  • Manage monthly customer invoicing via QuickBooks Online and investigate discrepancies and past-due payments.
  • Accurately process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, and data entry, through Bill.com and maintain vendor records.
  • Oversee the daily accounting inboxes (2) for both parent and sister companies, ensuring timely query resolution.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of multiple bank and credit card statements, and manage intercompany transactions.
  • Review and process affiliate payments, addressing any discrepancies in collaboration with team members.
  • Audit commission statements by verifying calculations, ensuring compliance with commission agreements, and following up on any discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll as needed.
  • Provide documentation and support to third-party CPA during year-end tax filings, including 1099 filings.
  • Provide direct support to the accounting team for audits, special accounting analysis, budget preparation or forecasts, and other projects as requested.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the use of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, technology, and interpersonal skills.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, preferred
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in office or professional settings, with a focus on accounting, demonstrating adeptness and competency in relevant responsibilities
  • Capable of working independently, showcasing self-reliance and initiative in completing tasks effectively.
  • A team player with a growth mindset who is organized, dependable, and adaptable.

The pay range for this position is $68,500- $85,000 and is dependent on location and experience.
