POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions including Dale Carnegie and month-end journal entries and reconciliations for all Trust Accounts. The Junior Accountant reports to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule messenger pickup
- Oversee Dale Carnegie
- Review and Post Daily Cash Receipt
- Process and prepare Title IV Checks
- Post Trust Accounts in SAGE and QuickBooks for all deposits and drawdowns
- Post SLM deposits and withdrawals
- Reconcile Trust Accounts
- Monthly student statements
- Monthly campus audit visit
- Assist Controller/CFO with month-end closing
- Assist with other projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Demonstrated Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be accurate and attentive to detail.
- Payroll experience with Paycom Preferred
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or equivalent required.
- MS Excel: 1 year (Required)
