Location Qualifications: Ghent (hybrid, 2 days in the office)

About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an ideal entry-level position for a recent university graduate looking to kickstart their career in accounting. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience by managing daily cash reconciliations, handling credit card expenses, and maintaining a high volume of accounts payable transactions.

What you will be doing:

• High-Volume Accounts Payable: Accurately enter and process a minimum of 60 A/P invoices per day into our accounting system.
• Cash Reconciliations: Perform daily cash reconciliations to ensure all bank statements match internal ledgers.
• Credit Card Management: Track, verify, and reconcile corporate credit card expenses and receipts.
• Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain organized financial records and assist with digital filing.
• Team Support: Assist the senior accounting team with month-end closing procedures and special projects as needed.

What we are looking for:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 
• Data Accuracy: Fast and accurate data entry skills with a strong eye for detail (crucial for managing high-volume invoicing).
• Technical Savvy: Proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, basic formulas) and a quick ability to learn new accounting software.
• Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
