About the Role:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Post Production Technology team. This role focuses on Level 1 IT support in a Microsoft-based environment as well as assisting editors, colorists, artists, and producers with technical issues. This includes workstations, storage systems, and general post-production infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 technical support for Microsoft-based systems including Windows workstations, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Troubleshoot workstation, software, storage, and network issues affecting editorial and finishing teams.
- Support users working in Avid, Colorfront, Blackmagic, and Autodesk based productions.
- Assist with workstation setup, imaging, and configuration for editors, colorists, and artists.
- Support macOS, Windows, and Linux-based systems used throughout post-production.
- Assist with user account provisioning, permissions, and group management in Active Directory.
- Help maintain shared storage environments including NAS systems and high-performance post-production storage.
- Monitor helpdesk tickets and respond to support requests in a timely manner.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting steps.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or junior systems administration.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Windows 10 / Windows 11
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory user and permissions management
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Experience troubleshooting workstation hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Strong communication skills and ability to support creative users in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support tickets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting film, television, or media post-production environments.
- Familiarity with editorial and finishing tools including:
- Avid Media Composer
- DaVinci Resolve
- Autodesk Flame
- Exposure to shared storage systems, including:
- Quantum StorNext
- NAS / high-performance media storage
- Working knowledge of macOS administration and troubleshooting.
- Basic experience with Linux systems (Rocky Linux or similar distributions).
- Familiarity with media workflows, file formats, and high-resolution media pipelines.
- Experience with helpdesk/ticketing platforms (Jira, Zendesk, ServiceNow, etc.).
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
