Job Title: Jr. Quality Assurance Analyst (Embedded)
Location: Ft. Worth, TX – Onsite 5 days per week
Salary Range: $62,000 to $66,000 + Bonus Eligible
Who we are: Lynx delivers modular, open standards-based software solutions that redefine the economics of developing, deploying, and maintaining high assurance, mission critical edge platforms. These secure edge computing solutions are designed to drive innovation and operational excellence in today’s most demanding environments. From advancing aerospace and defense capabilities to transforming commercial and industrial systems, Lynx collaborates across a wide range of industries, including automotive, medical, and critical infrastructure, to deliver tailored, high assurance solutions aligned with specific mission and operational requirements. Our key products and services are:
- LYNX MOSA.ic: A software platform that can include a LYNX safety-critical real-time operating system. MOSA.ic's modular design provides robust support for multicore processing. It allows different operating systems and applications of different criticality levels to be run on separate cores for improved performance, reliability, and security.
- CoreSuite 2.0: A suite of graphics libraries and tools that enable GPU hardware acceleration for both graphics and "GPU Compute", supporting applications such as machine learning and AI processing in edge devices.
- MOSA.ic.SCA and Vigiles, tools that provide Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and Common Vulnerabilities Exposure (CVE) management for embedded Linux-based and other applications.
- Software development services for high-reliability applications that can include initial setup of a "DevSecOps" development environment, software application development, and long-term product lifecycle management.
Role Summary
As a Junior Quality Assurance Analyst (Embedded), you’ll help execute established test plans for assigned embedded product releases. You’ll work with experienced QA and engineering teammates to ensure test environments are ready, validate builds, document results, and support reliable, high-quality releases.
This role is a great fit for a recent graduate or early‑career QA professional who enjoys hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and learning how embedded products are built, validated, and released.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain test environments: Assist with creating and maintaining Windows/Linux virtual machines (VMs), installing toolchains and development tools, performing basic health checks, and escalating issues to the appropriate owner when needed.
- Execute CI-driven workflows: Run established CI pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and supporting scripts/tools (such as Python-based build/driver scripts and SCons) as part of validation and release workflows.
- Support release execution: Contribute to the release/test cycle by running manual and automated test suites, capturing results, and helping publish quality status updates and test reports.
- Triage and document defects: Investigate failing tests, collect logs and supporting evidence, write clear and actionable defect reports, and collaborate with developers to confirm fixes and prevent regressions.
- Help ensure release integrity: Verify that release packages and required documentation are complete and compliant with defined processes; assist with maintaining release artifacts and related repository content (documentation, dependencies, credentials, and notification lists).
- Continuously improve: Contribute ideas and small enhancements that increase test coverage, reduce cycle time, and strengthen overall quality outcomes.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent diploma) in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Testing Fundamentals: Working knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and structured test practices. Able to execute test cases, document results clearly, and follow a defect/issue workflow.
- Source Control / CI: Working knowledge of Git and Jenkins; able to run established build/test pipelines and supporting scripts.
- Programming/Scripting: Exposure to Python/scripting (coursework or professional use). Familiarity with C/C++ is helpful for embedded debugging concepts and understanding test harnesses.
- Technical Environment Comfort: Comfortable with basic hardware setup and troubleshooting (connecting components, validating test setups) and working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Communication & Problem Solving: Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid organization, and a practical, analytical approach to troubleshooting.
Nice to Have
- QA Experience: At least 1 year of hands‑on QA experience, including internships, co‑ops, or early‑career roles. Experience testing software, systems, or embedded/low‑level components is a plus.
- Tooling & Documentation: Familiarity with Jira and SharePoint for planning, traceability, and release documentation.
- Graphics Development/Validation: Exposure to 3D graphics libraries (e.g., OpenGL or Vulkan).
- RTOS Awareness: Familiarity with RTOS environments such as PikeOS, VxWorks, LynxOS or Integrity is an asset.
- Regulated / Certification Concepts: Basic awareness of DO‑178C concepts is a plus.
- Controlled Environments: Prior exposure to U.S. export control regulations or other regulated development environments is beneficial.
Eligibility: U.S. citizenship is required.

What We Do
For over thirty years, Lynx Software Technologies has helped customers with some of the most demanding, mission critical, system requirements to create, certify, and deploy equipment, above, on and below the surface of the earth.. Lynx for the Internet of Things (IoT): As billions of ‘things’ are connected to the internet, a new paradigm of security is required. Lynx offers real-time military-grade security products to protect the edge, the gateway and cloud devices while protecting any sensitive data as it traverses the IoT. Key Markets: Automotive, Industrial, Factory Automation, Medical and Transportation. Our LYNX MOSA.ic software framework and LynxSecure separation kernel hypervisor provide a secure foundation for this new generation of connected platforms. Lynx for Enterprise Cyber Security: To fight modern day malicious threats, security needs to be built-in rather than implemented as an afterthought. Lynx offers isolation technology that can be implemented in endpoint and cloud deployments to separate and protect critical enterprise infrastructure. This isolation technology separates sensitive information from the key attack points and denies infiltration and exfiltration attempts. Lynx for Aerospace & Defense: Lynx provides certified avionics RTOS solutions based on open standards such as POSIX, ARINC and FACE that allow reusability of certified code and systems. The FAA Reusable Software Component (RSC) has been issued to LynxOS-178. The LynxOS 7.0 RTOS and LynxSecure separation kernel technologies were designed to provide the highest levels of security without compromising performance and real-time determinism.
