About Satellogic

Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth Observation company that designs, manufactures, and operates satellite systems, delivering decision-grade insights at scale to government and commercial customers.

We build space systems end-to-end, from satellite design and manufacturing to launch and on-orbit operations, giving us the ability to deploy quickly, operate reliably, and support persistent monitoring across regions and priority areas. Our approach moves customers beyond one-off imagery toward continuous awareness and alert-driven decision-making, with flexible pathways that can evolve from managed monitoring to full satellite ownership and sovereign control.

Our technology supports a wide range of use cases across climate monitoring, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, defense and intelligence, helping organizations detect change, manage risk, and plan with confidence.

With a team of approximately 150 employees across five countries, Satellogic brings together expertise in satellite engineering, software development, data science, manufacturing, operations, and go-to-market. We’re a group of purpose-driven builders who value ownership, curiosity, and execution—and who work with humility, honesty, and empathy.

About the team

The Power Subsystem team in our Research & Development group is in charge of the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the energy generation, storage, and distribution systems for our satellites.

Our team provides end-to-end engineering services tailored to the specific needs of the spacecraft. By delivering specialized, high-reliability power systems —including solar arrays, battery packs, and power conditioning & distribution units— we bridge the gap between individual hardware components and the broader ecosystem to ensure a seamless, mission-ready satellite.

The team is always learning and trying to push the limits, relying in part on the large diversity of people’s profiles and backgrounds.

About the position

As a Jr. Systems Engineer for the Power Subsystem, you will support the solving of complex technical challenges by defining requirements, developing architectures, and validating the power systems of our hardware-constrained satellites. You will play a key role in the full lifecycle of the satellite's power architecture, ensuring energy balance, efficiency, and reliability from design through on-orbit operations.

Location

This role operates on a hybrid model. While our primary preference is Buenos Aires, we are open to hiring in Córdoba, Argentina. Availability to travel is required, specifically to the facility in Uruguay.

Responsibilities

  • Support the definition, management and validation of system-level and component-level requirements for the satellite power subsystem (solar arrays, batteries, power distribution boards).
  • Participate in power budget analysis, energy balance analyses, and system modeling to ensure mission feasibility and hardware reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of power components into the overall satellite architecture.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and oversee the execution of functional and environmental tests (e.g., radiation, TVAC, vibration) for power hardware.
  • Support the satellite operations team regarding power subsystem health, telemetry analysis, and anomaly resolution on orbit.

About you

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Experience in systems engineering or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with collaborative engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with power systems, power electronics, or energy storage (preferably in aerospace, automotive, or similarly demanding environments).

Technical skills

  • Systems Architecture: Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles, requirements management, configuration management and verification & validation (V&V) processes.
  • Power Engineering: Fundamental knowledge of power generation, energy storage technologies (e.g., Li-Ion batteries), and DC/DC conversion.
  • Analysis & Modeling: Ability to use mathematical/modeling tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB/Simulink) for system simulation.
  • Testing: Interest in hardware testing methodologies and a willingness to learn laboratory instrumentation and environmental test procedures (e.g., radiation, TVAC, vibration).

What we value

  • Experience in Space Industry
  • Exposure to systems engineering or power subsystem design through academic projects, internships, or early professional experience. A strong desire to learn the full product development life cycle (from concept and requirements to design and testing).

Interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong capacity for continuous learning and a passion for innovation.

Diversity Commitment

Satellogic values diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer. We are convinced that hiring and developing top talent from around the world for any given discipline will drive innovation, generate new solutions, and deliver a superior product to our global customer base. We work to build an equitable and inclusive environment in which all people, regardless of gender, race, religion, or background, can come together to do their best work.
