This role will be based in our Atlanta office, on a in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to our Litigation Shareholder.

Position Summary:

The Junior Paralegal provides assistance to litigation attorneys and paralegals, primarily in the area of discovery and trial.  This role will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares document productions
  • Proofreads briefs and other legal documents
  • Drafts routine correspondence/memorandum and discovery requests/responses
  • Maintains case and document databases, updates files
  • Basic document review and light research
  • Supports trial preparation efforts including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, working with witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars
  • Conducts review of parties' discovery including preparation of subpoenas and related motions
  • Factual research and development, utilizing electronic research tools and in some cases working with vendors
  • Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Certificate in paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Certified Paralegal a plus
  • One to three years of litigation experience; law firm experience is preferred

Technology

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity, Concordance, and Live Note preferred
  • Exceptional computer and internet research skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
