This role will be based in our Atlanta office, on a in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to our Litigation Shareholder.
Position Summary:
The Junior Paralegal provides assistance to litigation attorneys and paralegals, primarily in the area of discovery and trial. This role will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares document productions
- Proofreads briefs and other legal documents
- Drafts routine correspondence/memorandum and discovery requests/responses
- Maintains case and document databases, updates files
- Basic document review and light research
- Supports trial preparation efforts including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, working with witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars
- Conducts review of parties' discovery including preparation of subpoenas and related motions
- Factual research and development, utilizing electronic research tools and in some cases working with vendors
- Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

- Bachelor’s Degree required; Certificate in paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Certified Paralegal a plus
- One to three years of litigation experience; law firm experience is preferred

- Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity, Concordance, and Live Note preferred
- Exceptional computer and internet research skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
