Far from just another POS, Scotch is the all-in-one operating system designed exclusively for liquor retailers.
The Role

JR Onboarding Engineer @ Scotch

About Us

Scotch’s mission is to modernize one of the oldest industries on earth: the $1.6T beverage alcohol market. We’re starting by building the next-generation operating system for BevAlc retailers (POS, payments, Back Office, E-commerce).

We are seeking a detail-oriented JR Onboarding Engineer to join our team. You will be a highly technical individual dedicated to ensuring the smooth and reliable launch of new retailers onto the platform. You’ll be responsible for owning the technical data ingestion pipeline—pulling, loading, testing, and validating customer data as they transition from legacy systems to Scotch.

Key Responsibilities

We’re a small, nimble team, and this role is critical to our customers' first experience with our product. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Data Pipeline Ownership: You will find and extract data from legacy POS systems, serving as the bridge between old technology and our modern platform.
  • Validation and QA: You will test and validate imported data to ensure all fields meet requirements and accuracy standards before the customer goes live.
  • Process Optimization: You will design and create processes to discover and extract data efficiently, minimizing manual interactions and streamlining the onboarding flow.
  • Customer Guidance: You will use your strong troubleshooting skills to guide customers through technical processes, such as adding TeamViewer to their PC to enable remote access.

What We Value

For this technical role, we specifically value:

  • Technical Execution: A core strength in getting things done technically and effectively.
  • Organizational Rigor: A high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage a pipeline of tasks simultaneously without dropping the ball.
  • Independence: The ability to work autonomously to solve problems and move tasks forward.

While we don't require a specific degree, here is what we are looking for:

Table Stakes

  • A requirement for this role is the ability to work from our Denver office.
  • 1-5 years of experience in technical support or software implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with POS systems and data management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort with remote access tools (e.g., TeamViewer).
  • Demonstrated organizational rigor and attention to detail.

Bonus Points

  • Experience specifically in the POS or fintech industry.
  • Familiarity with data extraction and cleaning processes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity — $70,000 - $80,000 annual salary + equity options.
  • Health, dental, and vision — 75% premium coverage for employees, multiple quality options to choose from.
  • 401k — company sponsored 401k retirement plan.
  • Unlimited PTO — we encourage folks to use it.
  • Bi-Annual Company Offsites — company-paid trips to places like Jackson Hole, Park City, Lake Tahoe, and more to work alongside & bond with your colleagues.

Equal Opportunity Employer

We are an equal-opportunity employer. We don’t discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We also consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law, including but not limited to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
