KBR is seeking a Modeling And Simulation Engineer with and understanding of satellite relevancy to Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community unique missions to be part of our team supporting our customer in Chantilly, VA that delivers mission-critical capabilities directly supporting intelligence-gathering missions from overhead systems.  We lead architectural assessments and report recommendations to senior US Government personnel guiding acquisition and execution of next-generation SIGINT systems needs for the next 10-20 years.  These systems deliver collected data distributed to US Government Intelligence Community and Military users.

The Modeling And Simulation Engineer serves as a technical advisor to support the Government with performing analysis on complex space systems needs for the intelligence and DoD communities.  The SIGINT leadership team embraces innovation in a relentless effort to meet intelligence needs and shorten the timelines to provide actionable critical information to US Government decision-makers.  This is a position of trust advising the US Government and supporting critical missions in SIGINT, COMINT, FISINT, and ELINT. 

This is a contingent position based upon contract award

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Supports mission analysis assessments and studies for the Program Office

  • Supports assessments HIVE architecture impacts, architecture trades, and architecture performance assessments with the Enterprise, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, and Program Office

  • Supports development, test, and validation of systems assessment methodologies and tools such as STK, SOAP, MATLAB, and potentially organically developed software

  • Analysis of space systems, performance metrics, timelines, and models

  • Identify and document issues impacting both spacecraft and ground systems through objective analysis and processes

  • Support pre- and post-algorithm implementation and process analysis and modeling

  • Support support to verification and validation of algorithms including tuning, testing, and integration planning

  • Support orbital analysis, including threats assessments/impacts, trades, and analyses

  • Communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Interface with customers, directorate/office representatives, and across system engineering groups to drive resolution plans and strategies for complex technical challenges

  • Generate and maintain technical documentation and reports

Minimum qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Understanding of government satellite systems

  • Insight into SIGINT mission fundamentals, and ability to perform analysis on complex space systems

  • Basic understanding of Signals Intelligence satellite systems and architectures

  • Experience in Matlab, Python or similar

Desired qualifications:

  • Prior experience providing analysis support

  • Knowledge of impacting mission threats

  • Prior experience with government satellite systems and/or space situational awareness

  • Experience in the NRO

  • Experience with CONOPs, architecture products, and/or requirements

  • Experience support wargames and exercises
