About the Role:
The Junior Data Infrastructure Engineer will support e-STORAGE’s Data Analytics & Infrastructure team, helping ensure utility-scale BESS sites are operating as expected by keeping the underlying AWS environment stable and well-managed. This role is designed as a hands-on, early-career opportunity focused on core infrastructure fundamentals, working closely with the team’s DevOps Engineer to take ownership of operational, admin-heavy workstreams such as AWS user/access administration and VPC support. Success in this position looks like someone who is consistent, detail-oriented, and comfortable with repeatable tasks, while bringing strong learning energy to grow into broader DevOps tooling over time.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure for analytics, including pipelines, storage, and compute
• Manage user access, permissions, and authentication using IAM and RBAC
• Automate CI/CD workflows to support reliable data pipeline deployments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipeline performance and reliability
• Partner with data engineers and analysts to improve infrastructure, tooling, and throughput
• Deploy and configure data tools in support of the analytics platform
• Implement security best practices for data access, compliance, and SSO authentication (Azure AD, RBAC)
• Script and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Support cloud networking requirements, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and/or data engineering
• Hands-on experience with Linux, scripting (Python and/or Bash), and SQL
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn quickly and take feedback in stride
• Reliable, detail-oriented work style with comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Knowledge of AWS cloud is an asset
