Responsibilities- Plans, designs, and produces a full range of graphic design products for a diverse audience.
- Meets partner requirements and deadlines outlined in creative request, including, but not limited to design concepts such as color, type, layout, and theme variations using a full knowledge of established identity standards and requirements.
- Makes all requested changes/corrections promptly and correctly.
- Prepares electronic files (preflight) for digital printing as well as four-color process and spot-color offset printing.
- Communicates daily with operations department.
- Works with other designers and copywriters to develop new concepts.
- Assists with establishing and maintaining the highest possible standards of reproduction for all print, outdoor, audio/visual, and collateral materials produced.
- Monitors quality of finished mechanical art and conceptual materials produced by internal and freelance designers.
- Informs and advises leadership on status of departmental affairs of importance to producing the best work under the best deadlines, including all design-related computer hardware/software needs such as upgrades, equipment needs/problems, training, etc.
- Encourages the efficient visual execution of creative concepts according to a prime account responsibility list or by assignment.
- Consults with leadership, as well as copywriters and others, as necessary, to achieve agency objectives.
- Examines and approves finished art and conceptual material and supervises the alteration or correction of such material.
- Maintains a current list of available freelance artists, photographers, and other contributory talent.
- Oversees standards in type specification, color quality, inspection, and approval of vendor proofs.
- Lead and/or guide the work of other employees.
- Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
- Work may require lifting objects up to 10lbs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) to five (5) years of graphic design experience in graphic design. Experience using a combination of page layout, word processing, and photo editing software to design, create, and prepare materials for digital and offset print production required. Portfolio required.
- Working knowledge of the printing process including paper and ink selection, size requirements, bleeds, crops, folding, etc.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail including the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to use judgment to create effective communication pieces and develop graphic design products which convey customer's intended message and theme.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, act decisively in daily work, be flexible and work well in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Ability to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision.
- Ability to direct and mentor others in all aspects of design, art direction and production.
