POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a technically skilled, motivated SAP IT Analyst to support production operations and system testing while connecting business requirements with IT capabilities. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of SAP modules, including MM, SD, FI/CO, and PP, as well as hands-on programming experience and an interest in learning ABAP and other AI systems . This role includes gathering requirements, supporting implementations, and helping ensure the SAP environment supports business objectives. In addition this role will also be focused on managing the interfaces between our SAP ERP (PP/MM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

You will maintain seamless communication between the digital warehouse floor and shop floor machines, resolving daily operational issues and conducting critical system testing. This position offers an excellent path to develop deeply technical skills in smart factory automation and integrated supply chains.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Triage Shop Floor Issues: Troubleshoot day-to-day transactional, network, and data flow failures between the MES layer and SAP PP/EWM.
  • Interface Monitoring: Actively monitor IDocs, queue errors (qRFC), and API message brokers that sync warehouse staging with MES production lines.
  • Device Troubleshooting: Resolve data entry errors coming from RF mobile scanners, plant floor terminals, and automated labeling systems.
  • SLA Compliance: Document, track, and close entry-level support incidents using service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) within required deadlines.
  • Test Case Development: Write clear, step-by-step test scripts for minor SAP/MES system enhancements, bug fixes, and patch releases.
  • Testing Execution: Conduct Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and Regression Testing to verify that warehouse movements successfully trigger MES events.
  • UAT Support: Coordinate with shop floor power-users to facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and log configuration defects.
  • Master Data Validation: Review and update fundamental master data setups, including SAP storage bins, production versions, BOMs, and MES routing configurations.
  • Write SOPs: Document testing results and build standard operating procedures (SOPs) to help production operators avoid recurring system errors. [1, 2]

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1–3 years of professional experience in an IT support, data analyst, or manufacturing plant environment.
  • Technical proficiency in debugging various languages.
  • Foundational understanding of SAP PP (Production Orders, Confirmations, Goods Issues).
  • Familiarity with SAP EWM / WM concepts (Staging, Production Supply Areas, Goods Receipts)
  • Familiarity with integration technologies (e.g., PI/PO, APIs, EDI).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with S/4HANA implementations or migrations.

  • Knowledge of Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
  • Exposure to SAP Solution Manager, SAP BTP, or cloud-based SAP services.
  • Prior experience using test tracking tools is highly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of data communication interfaces (IDocs, XML, or RFC queues)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams with considerable time spent on the physical, fast-paced manufacturing plant floor.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
