Manulife Japan is looking to fill the role of Assistant Test Manager (Bilingual preferred). Please review the responsibilities and qualifications below. Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Lead projects and be responsible for QA delivery
- Create initial estimates of testing effort for new developments and enhancements
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and defect triage calls
- Work with cross-functional teams for defect management
- Monitor, measure, control, and report to management on test progress, product quality, test results, and completion status
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to test team members
- Identify slippage and develop recovery strategies, and resolve issues related to technical solutions in test environments
- Ensure all test phases have defined entry and exit criteria and obtain sign-off prior to Go Live
- Implement structured defect management and incident reporting processes
- Track and report testing activities including test results, coverage, resource requirements, defects, and performance baselines
Testing:
- Define, design, and deliver testing including Functional Testing, System Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and support UAT
- Document defects and queries with sufficient detail for quick resolution
- Review testing requirements for change requests and assess impact on plans and schedules
- Improve and maintain automation frameworks
- Create both manual and automated test scripts
- Ensure configuration management and traceability of test artifacts
- Drive QA standards and best practices and promote continuous improvement through automation
- Identify automation opportunities, plan efforts, select tools, and provide team training
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Hands-on experience as an Assistant Test Manager working with developers, business analysts, project managers, testers, and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of SDLC (Waterfall and Agile), cloud technologies, and testing methodologies
- Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks
- Experience in performance testing, API testing, and cross-browser testing
- Proven ability to manage relationships with business and external stakeholders
- Strong track record of delivering on time
- Experience with test management and defect management tools
Desirable:
- Understanding of the insurance domain
Certifications (preferred, not mandatory):
- ISTQB, PMP, QAI, ISO, CAPM, HP ALM, Silk
Work from Home:
- Up to 4 times per month or as required
Overtime:
- Approximately 15 to 20 hours per month
Salary:
- Determined based on experience, skills, and knowledge in accordance with company policies
- Commuting allowance and variable incentive bonus provided
Working Hours:
- Standard hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 1-hour break
