We are looking for Heavy Duty Mechanics who are ready to build a long-term career with Finning. Technicians will have the opportunity to work both in shop and field environments to grow product and mechanical experience. You will be set up with dealer grade training and fully stocked field trucks with all the tools you need to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of Caterpillar equipment.
This is a 7x7 continuous shift, where travel and camp/hotel or condo accommodations will be provided. (shift subject to change based on work location)
If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certification with a valid driver’s license, then you are exactly who we are looking for!Job Description:
- Responsible for the maintenance and overhaul work in the natural gas compression and EPG industry in the field.
- Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs, maintenance and overhauls on natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments.
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Journeyperson Certification in Mechanic, Electrician, Millwright and Automotive may also be considered
- Gas Compression and Well Servicing experience will be preferred
- Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract.
- Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset.
- Willingness to participate and complete additional training.
- Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Note:
- Travel is required throughout Alberta and NWT
- Preference for candidate locations are Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Grande Prairie
- This position will work a 7x7 continuous shift (subject to change due to work location)
