What is Publishing Development and Why Does It Matter?You’ll join our Publishing Development team, which plays a key role in making science open and accessible. We work closely with researchers and editors to build strong communities, launch impactful article collections, and grow journals so they reach their full potential.
It’s not just about publishing; it’s about driving progress, fostering collaboration, and accelerating discovery.
As a Publishing Development Specialist, you’ll connect with researchers, build communities, and help journals thrive.
- Lead outreach: Engage researchers and editors to create opportunities for collaboration.
- Drive growth: Manage a dynamic pipeline from initial contact to successful publication.
- Build relationships: Cultivate trust with editors and contributors to attract high-quality submissions.
- Represent the journal: Attend conferences, host webinars, and grow visibility.
- Develop communities: Organize initiatives that bring researchers together.
- Recruit editors: Help expand journal sections by onboarding new experts.
- Experience in sales, outreach, or business development with a results-driven mindset.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communicator: personable, persuasive, and relationship-focused.
- Entrepreneurial: you spot opportunities and act on them.
- Tech-savvy and eager to learn about AI tools.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
