American Training is seeking a motivated Job Developer who will be responsible to secure employment and community opportunities for our Guests (Adults with Disabilities). You will develop relationships with businesses in Central Middlesex communities to secure integrated group employment. The hours are 8-4, Monday through Friday!


We are looking for a talented individual with a deep commitment to working as part of a skilled team and a true passion for advocating for American Training Guests, to ensure that they are receiving quality services while incorporating our WOW! Magic philosophy.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop relationships with business in all three geographic service areas to secure integrated group employment situations to meet contractual obligations as dictated by funding source.
  • Set up career exploration opportunities for Guests in the community in conjunction with site managers and mobile CBDS teams.
  • Assist with implementation of specific employment and community related curriculums to assist with successful operation of and “Employment First” CBDS Program.
  • Develop a network of employment sites that allow for individuals to do on-site observation of specific career clusters in accordance with written career plans.
  • Network in the community to secure both individual and group volunteer opportunities for guests that facilitate community membership, skill building and employment preparedness.
  • Develop learning based opportunities for guests in the community to enhance the cultural enrichment portion of the CBDS programming. Work in conjunction with site managers to ensure activities meet needs of individual Guests and fit into Mobile CBDS schedules.
  • Works closely with all site managers to ensure that there are integrated, interactive and WOW! Magic fitness experiences that further people’s goals towards employment and a meaningful day.
  • Develop a professional, technologically sophisticated presentation on our employment services to be shared with funder, families and school systems.
  • Work with site managers, Day Service Director and VP/Director on the development of ATI owned and operated for profit business and Guest operated businesses.
Qualifications
  • Previous Job Development experience preferred
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities required
  • Must engage in a continual learning process to ensure we are on the cutting edge of employment services for our population.
  • Maintains a standard of professionalism in appearance, attitude and ethics
  • Must maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position
  • Valid driver’s license, the use of a personal vehicle and satisfactory CORI and DDS fingerprinting are required
