Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Jira Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the Jira platform, including creating and managing user accounts, configuring backups and disaster recovery plans, and ensuring the security and stability of the platform.
  • Create, document, and train the stakeholder staff on a framework for use of Jira for its projects.
  • Advise the stakeholders on the optimal way to utilize Jira and ensure that Jira works seamlessly with Confluence, and GitHub.
  • Assist with coordination of Jira system requirements identification, conduct needs analyses, and training design, delivery, evaluation, and management.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to validate training requirements and evaluate training quality.
  • Facilitate post training performance critique and development sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science or related area is required.
  • Atlassian Jira Admin 7 Certification required.
  • 15+ years of hands-on relevant experience with Jira configuration, administration, and optimization for SDLC processes.
  • Extensive experience in setting up Jira workflows, custom fields, permissions, and dashboards tailored to project needs.
  • Proven expertise in supporting Agile teams, using Jira to manage sprints, track tasks, and automate reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira for Agile development, including custom workflows, task management, and integration with other tools like GitHub and Confluence.
  • Ability to design and implement issue tracking and task management processes that enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Proficient in setting up real-time dashboards, automated reports, and customized notifications for stakeholders.
  • Expertise in user management and access control, ensuring secure yet effective access to Jira features for project teams.
  • Experience in training teams on Jira best practices, helping them fully leverage the tool for efficient task and project management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage actions to meet changing deadlines and requirements within a high volume, high stress environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and demonstrated professionalism.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and able to work in a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Highly responsive to requested needs.
