The Operating System team is part of the Software Core Services group in the organization and is responsible for roadmap, architecture, design, and management of the entire Mixed Reality ecosystem core libraries and tools. The Operating System team is accountable for delivering Infrastructure & Platform solutions for Tesseract's internal applications, supporting all ‘verticals’ at Tesseract with broadly applicable ‘horizontal’ solutions and shared infrastructures, which aligns with Tesseract's
Technology Roadmap.
The Lead Android Framework Engineer position is an individual contributor role. He/she will work as an interface between Developers, Engineers, Operations, and Support staff. He/she is passionate about designing and developing Operating System platforms/solutions. The Lead Android Framework Engineer position requires expert level proficiency in technology and architecture, hands-on coding skills, and the ability to translate low- level business requirements into technology execution.expert level proficiency in technology and architecture, hands-on coding skills, and the ability to translate low- level business requirements into technology execution.
MUST HAVE SKILLS
• Developed and deployed a consumer operating system based on Android Open-Source Project (AOSP).
• Use Agile as the core philosophy for software development/delivery
• Agile software delivery process using JIRA (including breaking down work into modular tasks,
updating/tracking task status/work log entries for sprint management), Git (source code management
including branching strategy, code review), and Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines (automated builds, automated
unit test cases).
• Deep Knowledge of Android Framework Layer.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with the architect and engineering manager to analyse business needs and functional requirements and deliver the scalable and modular libraries and tools.
• Android camera development experience and the experience in the layer like - BSP / HAL / Framework layer (any), Camera Driver, V4L2, Camera ISP, UVC Driver, Camera HAL, Camera HAL3, Camera Provider,
• Camera Control, Camera Configuration
• Experience with Android display pipeline, graphics OpenGLES.
• Experience with Display Driver, Gralloc, Hardware composer, HWC , SurfaceFlinger, Display interfaces, EGL. OpenGL ES, NativeWindow, graphics driver, DRM, Wayland, AOSP display framework layer
• Experience with Android audio module - BSP / HAL /Framework layer any of) & additionally, Audio DSP Drive, ALSA, Audio DSP, Audio Firmware, I2S, PCM, Audio HAL, Audio policy, Audio Effect, OpenSL ES, Audio Track, Audio record, TinyALSA, AudioFlinger, Audio Service, Audio framework
• AOSP relevant experience:
o HAL HIDL
o AIDL (Binder)
o Android camera development experience
o Android display pipeline, graphics OpenGLES experience
o Android audio module experience
o Programming languages: C / C++ / Java (Any) - (Pref - C++11, C++13, C++15, C++19) / Java 8 OR
