You will be part of a six person team responsible for the application management and development of Dun & Bradstreet’s local platform in Norway. The platform has two main parts, the legacy platform and the target platform.
The legacy platform runs on the Microsoft stack (MSSQL , SSIS, C# .NET) and has more than 50 databases, more than one thousand tables and more than one hundred SSIS packages. The platform handles the ingestion, mastering and matching of Norwegian data sources, and dispatching of the data to local and global products.
The local platform is being migrated to a european target platfrom that is based on microservices and with streaming capabilities.
The team works mainly with backend development, handling the data ingestion, mastering, matching and dispatching of Norwegian data to the global portfoilo of products.
We have an agile process, hold monthly competency meetings, and have a focus on compliance and data security.
Responsibilities:
- You are an experienced MSSQL developer and able to write T-SQL fluently
- You are a backend developer (experience with REST API’s, Microservices, Kafka and is an advantage)
- Management and development of core D&B software systems using a variety of technical stacks and delivered via multiple channels, e.g. Microsoft stack (Java and MSSQL)
- Handles data ingestion, mastering, matching and dispatching of Norwegian data.
- Working in cross-functional teams, develop features end-to-end across the software stack.
- Adherence to defined quality and other processes.
- Write elegant, simple code that lends itself to low cost maintenance, extensibility, testability and performance.
- Work Agile process with 2-week sprints, and have a focus on compliance and data security.
- Provide support to peers within the local and off-shore teams.
- Take on delivery responsibilities outside of development as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related areas
- Proficiency in T-SQL, e.g. MSSQL
- Excellent Java programming skills (experience with REST API’s, Microservices, Kafka and is an advantage)
- Have worked (for at least 5 years) and have an appreciation of the realities of commercial software development.
- The ability to write well documented, maintainable and testable code.
- Ideally have worked in a scrum/agile development team.
- Be innovative and enjoy working with emerging technology and creating solutions using such.
- Able to work within a collaborative team environment containing local and remote team members.
- Be a problem solver, be curious and be inspired to take action. Be proactive, seek ways to collaborate and connect with people and teams in support of driving success.
- Continuous growth mindset, keep learning through social experiences and relationships with stakeholders, experts, colleagues and mentors as well as widen and broaden your competencies through structural courses and programs.
- Fluency in English
Nice to have:
- practical experience of any of the following is a plus: (Bigdata technologies, Data engineering, AWS/Cloud, Build/release tools, Unit test or continuous integration frameworks, Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques and technologies)
