About the role
We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a global team working on the modernization of a strategic Market Risk platform.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to complex software development projects and strategic initiatives.
- Take an active role in the modernization of the Market Risk platform.
- Develop, maintain and enhance existing software applications.
- Design and implement scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
- Contribute to solution architecture and technical design.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across different regions.
- Contribute to project roadmaps and technical strategy.
- Promote software engineering best practices and design patterns.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies and automation opportunities.
- Develop and maintain unit tests and ensure high-quality engineering practices.
- Participate actively in BAU activities and production support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across the development lifecycle.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java development.
- Strong experience with Spring.
- Strong object-oriented design and development skills.
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
- Strong experience with relational databases and logical data modelling.
- Experience querying and optimizing queries against large relational databases.
- Practical experience with JUnit and unit testing.
- Ability to write scripts using Shell or Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while following appropriate coding standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English.
- Experience working effectively in a global, distributed team environment.
- Interest in leveraging AI agents and automation tools across software development, validation and production deployment processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
