The Role

PandaDoc is looking for a Java engineer to join our Document App track. The Document App track is consistently focused on improving the existing core functionality of PandaDoc, we’re also focused on the stability and performance of all our domain services. The Document App track owns and maintains the most important domains of the product such as editor and documents workflow.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the whole development process: backlog refinement, coding, testing, and releasing product features;
  • Work in the domain team of 3-4 engineers and collaborate with engineering managers and other teams to build a strategic vision for our services;
  • Build, maintain, and improve the application architecture and performance;
  • Fix production issues and supervision your code;
  • Follow and contribute to agile development processes (LeSS framework).

Our stack:

  • Service-oriented architecture;
  • Two main stacks: Java and Python;
  • Java services based on Spring Boot with custom extensions, Java 17, and Gradle as a build tool;
  • Amazon Web Services;
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • The main cross-service communication transports are NATS, Kafka, and RabbitMQ;
  • PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Grafana observability stack for monitoring and alerting.

About you:

  • 3+ years of development experience with Java;
  • Strong understanding of Spring Boot;
  • Comfortable with relational database concepts;
  • Experience in microservice architectures;
  • Proactive problem-solver, highly autonomous worker, and a fast learner;
  • Have a passion for new technologies and are ready to implement strategic initiatives to help the company reach its goals;
  • Feel comfortable with a stack-agnostic approach (contribute to Python, TypeScript if needed);
  • Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
