The Mission
Payments & Settlement Services – Real‑Time Payments Engine (RTPE)
RTPE is a mission‑critical, real‑time payments platform processing high‑volume, low‑latency transactions across ING. It plays a central role in SEPA, instant payments, and ISO 20022 message processing, ensuring availability, resilience, and correctness under strict regulatory and operational constraints.
RTPE operates in a 24/7 production environment, handling millions of messages, integrating with multiple upstream and downstream systems, and supporting continuous modernization (e.g. migration from legacy integrations to Java‑based listeners and modern event‑driven architectures).
