The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all phases of the development process, including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation
Conduct feasibility studies, provide time and cost estimates, and contribute to IT planning and risk assessment
Develop and implement new or revised application systems, and offer user/operational support for business applications
Analyze complex issues, evaluate business and system processes against industry standards, and make informed judgments
Recommend and implement security measures, and conduct post-implementation analysis to ensure system functionality
Consult with clients and technology teams, recommend advanced programming solutions, and assist with customer-facing systems
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
Serve as an advisor to junior analysts and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for senior stakeholders and team members, operating with limited supervision and exercising independent judgment
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in Core Java: Java EE, PL/SQL, Microservices (lightspeed, docker, Kubernetes), Spring, Springboot, Hibernate, Unix scripting, Team City, Udeploy, Autosys, Oracle, MSSQL
Good knowledge of GitHub/Version Control Systems, Message Middleware: Kafka, MQ Series
Knowledge of Securities Finance, Financial Markets, Trading, Middle Office and Back Office functions a plus
Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
