Java Developer - Director - Software Engineering
We’re seeking someone to join our Institutional Securities Technology team as a Senior Java developer, in PWM Asia & Australia tech, to focus on design, development & delivery of business and technology initiatives while driving engineering excellence.

This is Director position that manages and optimizes the technical environment and end-user experience across various workplace technologies for end-users, ensuring seamless operations and user satisfaction across the organization.

What you’ll do in the role:
Build high-quality technology solutions enforcing strong engineering standards and best practices.
As an individual contributor (IC) demonstrate strong technical skills and independently drive business/technology initiatives
Leverage AI tooling and best practices to accelerate development/SDLC process and drive efficiency
Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering, hands-on development, to deployment and maintenance.
Engage with business stakeholders and technology senior management to review progress and gather feedback on initiatives.
Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards.
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving ability
What you’ll bring to the role:
6-10 years of overall experience in Application Development
Hands-on development experience in Java and open-source server-side technologies.
Strong experience in System/Application Design and Object-Oriented development.
Hands on experience using AI solutions e.g. GitHub Copilot (or similar), MCPs, Agents AI.
Tech Skills – Java, Spring Boot, REST API/Microservices, MQ/Kafka, SQL/NoSQL DB (MongoDB/Postgres), GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI, MCP, CI/CD, DevOps.
Preferred Tech Skills – Web/Mobile App development experience using React/Node.js, Capacitor and native technologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
