Java Backend Engineer

About the Job 

We, the Quality Assurance business unit of Qt, are searching for a (Web) Application Developer to strengthen our development of tools to present the results of static program analyses. These analyses help our customers identify bugs and other issues early in their development process, being part of the overall quality assurance for their software. 

We expect willingness and ability to autonomously familiarize oneself with new topics, read and understand documentation, and ask and discuss obscurities and ideas with your colleagues. We are happy to provide you with a team that likes to share knowledge, introduces you to our product and the development tasks, and supports you when you need help. 

We expect you to be at the Stuttgart office twice a week, hence living in or relocating to the region is mandatory. 

Our Tech Stack: Java, JUnit, SQLite3, JDBC, Spring MVC, Java Servlet API, OpenAPI 

You will 

• Work on the backend of a mature, highly integrated, multi-platform, on-premises web service that serves several frontends 
• Work with the OS/IDE of your choice 
• Develop for the long-term, dedicated on maintainability, testability, security 
• Fix bugs and identify bottlenecks 
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation 
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers 
• Participate in technical discussions to help us find the best solutions 
• Get insight into IDE-Plugin/Frontend Development if you’re interested 

About you 

• A bachelor’s degree (or similar/higher) in computer sciences and experience with some of the technologies in our Tech stack 
• Good Java programming skills 
• Familiarity with a Version Control System, preferably Git 
• Self-motivated work attitude 
  
• Other knowledge that benefits your application: Multiplatform development (Windows, Linux, MacOS), Python, C#, Kotlin, C++, Jenkins, Bazel, Typescript, React 
• Advanced English communication skills both verbal and written (English is our corporate language)
