Job Duties
- Database development: Develop, debug, maintain, and tune SQL, complex stored procedures, views, triggers, and related database business logic.
- Java development: Develop and maintain Spring Boot services, REST APIs, message-based integrations, batch processes, and supporting service-layer code.
- Production support: Investigate application issues, data discrepancies, failed integrations, and production incidents, including weekly on-call rotation.
- Integration support: Support IBM MQ, APIs, messaging, file transfer, notification, and scheduled-processing workflows across connected application systems.
- Reliability improvements: Improve performance, stability, logging, maintainability, availability, and recovery across database and Java components.
- Legacy Application Maintenance: Diagnose defects, trace existing business logic, implement targeted fixes and enhancements, refactor Java and database code carefully, and improve performance without disrupting existing integrations.
- Testing and review: Test, debug, review, and validate database and Java changes before release according to established procedures.
- Cross-team collaboration: Work with analysts, testers, DBAs, developers, and operations staff to deliver reliable changes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with an IT-related major or minor, PLUS
- Two years of IT experience involving the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration OR
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.
Additional Requirements/Preferences
- Ability to develop and maintain Spring Boot services, REST APIs, Spring batch processes, JDBC/JPA access, and configuration.
- Experience supporting REST APIs, IBM MQ or another enterprise messaging platform, message-based workflows, scheduled jobs, secure transfers and application logs, with an understanding of service dependencies, failover, retries, timeouts, idempotency and recovery.
- Significant hands-on experience with SQL and databases such as developing, debugging and maintaining complex stored procedures and database business logic, including triggers, views, joins, scripts, query tuning and data reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of SAP ASE/Sybase or a comparable database platform.
- Working knowledge of Maven.
- Ability to diagnose issues, communicate status clearly.
- Ability to explain technical findings and take ownership of tested work.
- Satisfactory criminal background check required.

Salary information
Starting Annual Salary Range: $91,890 - $110,594
