Get to Know the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Java and Big Data Software Engineer with an interest in understanding how maps are constructed and the elements that comprise map data. You will provide a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the development process used in large-scale systems, providing you with best practices and skills necessary for creating production-level applications. You will be on site and you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager based in Cluj.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will solve requirements applied to a "Big Data" environment following the company's development standards
• You will use best practices to deliver quality code and ensure the quality of the code for the whole project
• You will Implement unit, functional tests
• You will write technical documentation relevant to the project
• You will focus on delivery - align with the team's deliveries, schedule and own the project deliveries
• You will participate in planning and estimation of effort to test and maintain features
• You will participate in code and design reviews to maintain development standards

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Knowledge in Java programming language and/or Python
• Knowledge on unit testing and mocking frameworks
• Technical or computer science degree or a similar qualification
• Fluency in english
• Understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL systems
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Analytics and design skills
