Join our Team! Leland Management is seeking a Janitorial Tech for one of our communities in the Summerfield, FL area. The position is full-time (Saturday thru Wednesday from 5:00am to 1:30pm) with competitive pay and excellent benefits.

   

Summary: The Janitorial Team Member is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of all community facilities, including indoor and outdoor common areas, restrooms, offices, fitness spaces, pools, and event areas. This role supports daily operations by performing detailed custodial services, assisting with room setups, maintaining supplies, and providing courteous assistance to residents and guests. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adapting to changing priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Custodial & Cleaning Services

· Perform routine and detailed cleaning of restrooms, offices, lobbies, fitness areas, studios, meeting rooms, kitchens, locker rooms, and other common areas.

· Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, mirrors, counters, floors, rails, fixtures, furniture, and high-touch surfaces.

· Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain flooring surfaces including carpet, vinyl, wood, and tile.

· Empty trash, recycling, and ash receptacles and ensure proper disposal.

· Clean and polish drinking fountains, doors, windows, glass surfaces, blinds, vents, ceiling fans, and decorative items.

Event & Operational Support

· Assist with room setups, breakdowns, and furniture placement for meetings, activities, and special events.

· Verify proper placement of tables, chairs, and equipment in event spaces and common areas.

· Support special programs and high-traffic events by maintaining cleanliness before, during, and after activities.

Supply & Inventory Management

· Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized, and stocked condition.

· Monitor cleaning supplies and paper products and report replenishment needs to the Maintenance Coordinator.

· Ensure dispensers for soap, paper towels, and sanitizers are filled and functioning.

Resident & Guest Interaction

· Provide courteous assistance to residents and guests, including basic instructions regarding facility use and activities.

· Offer general information regarding events and programs when approached.

· Maintain a professional, service-oriented presence in all community spaces.

Maintenance Support & Safety

· Complete work orders and preventive maintenance inspections as assigned.

· Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.

· Assist maintenance staff with projects and tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements

· Must be capable of driving a car and possess a valid driver's license.

· Position involves sitting, standing, and/or movement. Position requires the ability to exert a minimal force of up to 50 pounds and minimal force to carry, lift, push, pull, and otherwise move objects frequently.

· Physical activities include balancing, climbing, crouching, crawling, fingering, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, and writing.

· Ability to exchange and receive information through written and oral communications. Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and skills.

· Physical ability to sustain movements, especially of the fingers, wrists, hands, or arms. Must be physically and intellectually capable of operating a computer, printer, telephone, and various other types of business equipment

· May work extended hours and on weekends when required.

Education and Experience Requirements

· Some high school education or equivalent required.

· One to three years of general work experience is preferred.

· Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

· Ability to adapt to interruptions, schedule changes, and varying workloads.

· Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete checklists accurately.

Work Environment

· Work is performed in both indoor, climate-controlled areas and outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.

· Regular interaction with residents, guests, staff, and vendors.

Skills Required
