Why This Role Matters

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining site premises, while establishing and maintaining a positive and constructive environment among all staff members. The Janitorial Supervisor also provides support, assistance, and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities to develop work skills and enhance communication in a workplace environment.

What You Will Do

Janitorial Operations & Quality Control

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure all goals or objectives are accomplished.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Inspects equipment for cleanliness and repair; tags out equipment when necessary and notifies PM of issues.
  • Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needs and submits to PM for approval.
  • Assures appropriate workplace conduct as dictated by Didlake policies and procedures.
  • Acts as Didlake representative and steward of government resources.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Provides leadership to staff by fostering cooperation and modeling dependability, hard work, strong ethics, and professional appearance.
  • Trains employees on job-specific tasks.
  • Identifies staff development and training gaps and consults with PM to ensure training is obtained.
  • Interviews potential employees and makes recommendations for hire.
  • Addresses staff attendance and tardiness in a positive manner and provides recognition when appropriate.
  • Reviews leave requests and makes recommendations to the Project Manager per Didlake policy.
  • Holds regular meetings with employees on priorities, assigned work, and inspection results.

Communication & Problem Solving

  • Identifies and resolves issues in a timely manner, escalating to PM when necessary.
  • Works with Employment Services to ensure program plans are followed and appropriate accommodations are made.
  • Gives feedback to promote a positive environment and quality performance.
  • Completes required paperwork and documentation.

Safety, Compliance & Training

  • Ensures safety of employees by monitoring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety policies.
  • Utilizes training opportunities to expand professional and technical knowledge.
  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
Preferred Qualifications

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant work experience in custodial services, preferably in a supervisory capacity.

Skills & Abilities

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to obtain required background credentials.
  • A valid REAL ID is required to enter this worksite.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation and use of industrial cleaning products and equipment, including floor equipment.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to read documents, write routine reports and correspondence, act as a point-of-contact for government staff, and present information to employees.
  • Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office, search engines, smartphones, and phone applications
  • Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
  • Project a positive and professional image to the public, co-workers, and Didlake clients.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule to respond to building emergencies during non-working hours.
  • Ability to work some weekends to accomplish special projects.
