We are looking for an Operations Manager for our service center in Pasadena, TX. This facility caters to our mobile assets and water treatment chemicals business. This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm). The Operations Manager will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered a Non-Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be creative, have good communication skills, be team-oriented, customer service-oriented, and have excellent math skills. This candidate will also have previous relevant experience working in a similar position. Water treatment and chemical facility experience required, preferably in Ion Exchange, Membrane processes, and Filtration.
Job Description:
Job duties include the following and are not limited to:
- Supervise the loading and unloading of chemicals safely.
- Manage inventory of chemicals in stock and provide management updates from time to time.
- Manage inventory of the mobile assets and their consumables.
- Supervise the loading and unloading of mobile assets.
- Inspect. Test and document the performance quality of mobile assets before deployment and identify repairs, maintenance needs, etc.
- Inspect mobile assets upon arrival for any maintenance needs and damages
- Advise on spare parts and inventory of mobile assets to the business manager.
- Be the maintenance lead and schedule preventative maintenance on the mobile assets.
- Coordinate and supervise technician work and sub-contractor activities.
- Manage a staff of mechanics, electricians, general laborers, and a lab technician.
- Overall upkeep of the facility
- Ensure the overall safety of assets and employees, and be responsible for EHS at the facility.
- Prepare monthly reports on mobile assets movement and chemical inventory
- Monitor monthly operating expenses against budget
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities
- Housekeeping and general maintenance of the facility
- Coordinate and execute internal capex projects for developing the required infrastructure in the facility
- Estimate and manage capital budgets
- Other duties assigned
Skill Requirements:
- Excellent skills in troubleshooting water treatment systems (pumps, motors, blower, valves & piping)
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and subcontractors, and maintain a positive attitude and good organizational skills
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks or projects.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ideal candidates will have water treatment and or chemical handling experience at an industrial water treatment facility.
- Attention to detail and being a team player
- Hazwopper safety training or certification will be a plus
