About the location:

A secluded oasis at the edge of an idyllic lagoon! On the east coast of Mauritius, lapped by turquoise waters perfect for water sports, our relaxing Resort is filled with lush greenery and dramatic views everywhere you turn. Each stylish villa and residence feature its own private garden and pool – just like the home for the Resort’s resident giant tortoises. Purpose 

 

The IVD Order Taker assumes the responsibility for taking guest in-room dining orders, communicate special requests to the kitchen, and coordinate deliver of orders according to Four Seasons Standards.     

 

Job Responsibilities 

 

General 

Executes all tasks assigned by his/her superiors 

Demonstrates a high degree of standards awareness; promotes teamwork and acts as role model 

Attends all scheduled training sessions 

Displays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers; lives the Golden Rule 

Adheres to the hotel's code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards 

Is seen as working hands-on, assists colleagues in crunch times; Walks the talk 

Actively participates in briefings and meetings 

Maintains a clean and orderly work area and promotes a safe working environment  

Performs any other cognate duties as and when required 

 

Departmental 

 

Answer telephone using courteous, efficient telephone etiquette while obtaining all information necessary to process the guest’s order according to Four Seasons Standards, describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods 

Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; coordinate delivery of items to the guestroom by Room Service Servers in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality; properly and accurately close guest checks; record guest charges and gratuities 

Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests 

Coordinate amenity deliver by ensuring that all requests are received, filed, ordered from kitchen and delivered in a prompt and accurate fashion 

Stock and order items 

Assist in setting tray tables for delivery 

 

  • Special Requirements 

 

  • Has 1-2 years of relevant experience in Food & Beverage service in a 5-star Resort/ Hotel 

  • Ability to communicate professionally and accurately via telephone 

  • Fluent in English and French 

  • Possess working knowledgeable in Food & Beverage 

  • Computer literate
