To accomplish this, we are seeking an outstanding ‘Test Analyst - Applications and Integrations’ who is aligned to our core values to play a crucial role in the testing process, ensuring our applications and integrations meet the required standards of quality and functionality before deployment.

**Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Requirement Gathering and Analysis

  1. Collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams to understand application and integration requirements across multiple enterprise systems.
  2. Elicit, document, and prioritize detailed functional and technical requirements.
  3. Ensure that all requirements are testable and aligned with business objectives.

Test Planning and Design

  1. Design and implement testing processes, standards and document from the ground up.
  2. Develop comprehensive test plans that outline the testing strategy, scope, resources, and schedule for applications and integrations.
  3. Design and document detailed test cases and scripts based on application and integration requirements.
  4. Identify and define testing metrics to measure quality and effectiveness.

Test Execution

  1. Execute functional, regression, and integration tests to validate application functionality and integration points.
  2. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end-users, gathering feedback to ensure all requirements are met.
  3. Document test results, defects, and issues in tracking systems for visibility and resolution.

Defect Management

  1. Identify, report, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  2. Perform root cause analysis on defects to improve application quality and testing processes.
  3. Retest resolved defects to validate fixes and ensure no new issues are introduced.

Collaboration and Communication

  1. Facilitate communication between business users, development teams, and other stakeholders regarding testing progress and issues.
  2. Participate in project meetings to provide insights on testing status and quality metrics.
  3. Assist in training team members on testing best practices and tools.
  4. Work closely with the business analysts to ensure requirements are testable and traceable. 

Continuous Improvement

  1. Evaluate testing processes and methodologies for efficiency and effectiveness.
  2. Provide feedback and recommendations for improving application and integration quality and testing strategies.
  3. Stay current with industry trends and emerging testing tools and methodologies.
  1. Documentation and Reporting
    1. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of test plans, test cases, and testing results.
    2. Generate regular reports on testing progress, defect status, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
    3. Ensure all documentation is kept up to date and easily accessible.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with a focus on applications and integrations testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), software quality principles/processes, and testing methodologies. 
  • A minimum of 3 years in transport, logistics, construction, materials handling related field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Required) 
  • Experience with test data creation.
  • Experience with and a strong understanding of data flows, APIs, process flows, integration specs and data mapping documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify, isolate and document defects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, including communication both internally and externally.
  • A strong desire to continue learning with Chaney IT.

The Test Analyst - Applications and Integrations is accountable for ensuring that our application and integration solutions are thoroughly tested and meet the quality standards required by Chaney Enterprises, facilitating communication, support, and continuous improvement in our software delivery processes.

Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience in transport, logistics, construction or materials handling
