A Day in the LifeThe IT Technologist (Product DNA PLM) is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise PLM solutions using platforms such as Windchill and ThingWorx.This role focuses on translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, enabling seamless integration across enterprise systems, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture. You will contribute hands-on to development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Design, develop, and configure solutions within Windchill and ThingWorx platforms
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and solution components
- Develop customizations, enhancements, and extensions for PLM applications
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance guidelines
- Implement and enhance Product DNA processes within PLM systems
- Work on data models, workflows, and system configurations
- Review and validate technical designs and solution approaches
- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and architecture
- Design and implement integrations across CAD, ERP, MES, MDM, and PIM systems
- Develop APIs, services, and data exchange mechanisms
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and system interoperability
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across platforms
- Participate in Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall delivery models
- Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and estimations
- Deliver high-quality components within sprint timelines
- Collaborate in cross-team coordination (Scrum of Scrums)
- Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Enable automated builds, deployments, and environment management
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure release stability
- Support functional and technical validation of developed components
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure testability and quality
- Assist in defect resolution and root cause analysis
- Ensure solutions meet functional and technical expectations
- Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of solutions
- Collaborate with architects to align with enterprise architecture
- Optimize applications for performance and maintainability
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and system constraints

- Communicate development progress, risks, and dependencies

Required knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field
- 4 - 7 years of experience in IT development/engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Windchill PLM and ThingWorx
- Experience in application development, customization, and configuration
- Strong knowledge of enterprise integrations (APIs, services, middleware)
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience working with global/distributed teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
