Job Description:

What you will do

  • Application Management:
    • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) software.
    • Ensure software applications are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users.
  • License Management:
    • Manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.
    • Monitor license usage and optimize license allocation to meet user needs.
    • Coordinate with vendors for license renewals, upgrades, and audits.
  • User Support and Communication:
    • Conduct meetings to know the demands and strategies related to the applications responsible.
    • Create how to/self-help documents for users and communicated the changes in environments.
    • Assist users with software-related issues and provide guidance on best practices.
    • Develop and maintain user documentation and support resources.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with IT, R&D and engineering teams to integrate CAD, CAE, and PLM tools into the company’s workflow.
    • Collaborate with department managers and other stakeholders to understand and meet their software needs.
    • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new software tools and technologies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest developments in CAD, CAE technologies.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Participate in industry forums and training to keep skills and knowledge current.
  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency and familiarity with software commonly used in R&D environments, such as simulation, modeling, and analytical tools. (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, ANSYS, MathWorks, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of software license management and compliance.
    • Extensive knowledge of various software licensing models (e.g., perpetual, subscription, SaaS) and license metrics, with a strong focus on CAD and CAE tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, ANSYS, MathWorks, etc.).
    • Application usage report preparations and analysis.
    • Experience with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
    • ⁠Proficient in the use of SAM tools and platforms (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow, Snow License Manager) for managing CAD and CAE software licenses.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to manage complex licensing agreements for CAD and CAE tools.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Education and Experience:
    • Graduate in Mechanical, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ Experience managing software and its licenses for CAD and CAE tools in a global or multinational organization.
    • Prior experience with software license audits and compliance in industries that rely heavily on CAD and CAE, such as manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or engineering.

This role is crucial for ensuring that R&D and engineering teams have the tools they need to work efficiently and effectively.
