This is an exciting job opportunity for a Digital Technical Engineer onsite in Panama,  with Signify, the world leader in lighting.

We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Engineer - SolidWorks PDM to administer, support the SolidWorks PDM environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and operational excellence of the application while providing Level 2 and Level 3 support to engineering users globally.

What you’ll do

  • SolidWorks PDM Application Management Administer, maintain, and support the SolidWorks PDM Professional environment. Configure and manage vaults, workflows, lifecycle states, data cards, templates, variables, user roles, and permissions.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for application incidents and service requests. Troubleshoot issues related to vault access, workflows, replication, client connectivity, file management, and application integrations.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement preventive and corrective actions. Collaborate with infrastructure, database, cybersecurity, engineering teams, and software vendors to resolve complex technical issues. Develop and maintain application documentation, knowledge articles, operational procedures, and support runbooks. Ensure compliance with IT security policies, audit requirements, and ITIL-based change management processes.
  • Drive continuous service improvements to enhance application stability, performance, and user experience. Engineering Applications & Teamcenter Migration Support the organization’s migration from SolidWorks PDM to Teamcenter.
  • Participate in migration planning, data validation, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), cutover, and post-production support activities. Support integration between SolidWorks and Teamcenter. Collaborate with implementation partners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful migration of engineering data and business processes.
  • Provide operational support for additional engineering CAD applications such as Siemens NX, SolidEdge, and Autodesk Inventor, as required. Coordinate application upgrades, issue resolution, and enhancement activities with application owners and software vendors. Support engineering application integration initiatives and contribute to standardization and continuous improvement efforts.

In addition to managing the SolidWorks PDM environment, the role will support strategic initiatives such as the migration from SolidWorks PDM to Teamcenter, provide operational support for other engineering CAD applications, and act as a backup support resource for R&D and Engineering (I2M) applications during the US time zone support window.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise engineering applications. 3+ years of hands-on experience administering SolidWorks PDM Professional.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or product development organizations. Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English is required

Technical Skills Mandatory:

  • SolidWorks PDM Professional Administration, Vault Administration, Workflow and Lifecycle Configuration, Data Card Configuration, User and Permission Management.
  • Archive Server Administration, SQL Server fundamentals, Windows Server Administration, Active Directory Integration, Backup and Disaster Recovery.
  • Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management, ITIL-based Service Management processes. Application Monitoring and Performance Management
  • Knowledge of engineering design processes, CAD/PDM/PLM concepts, and engineering data management
