IT Systems Engineer

Job Description

As IT Systems Engineer, you are a flexible, project-driven individual who delivers functional expertise, technical authority for IT systems / platforms and associated deployment workflows in accordance with standard architecture designs. Throughout, ensuring all IT systems/platforms can be monitored, maintained, and supported functionally Join Fugro and enjoy working on the implementation, functional and operational support and maintenance of IT Systems, solutions and platform.

Your role

• You implement automation of IT infrastructure deployment workflows;

• You collaborate with the Architect team on the onboarding of new innovations and technical implementation of new designs;

• You work with the deployment team to ensure systems can be efficiently provisioned as per standard configurations meeting project requirements;

• You work with the support team to ensure an appropriate level of IT systems support can be provided;

• You maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and online communities to keep abreast of emerging IT systems and technology;

• You provide technical expertise, direction and assistance to the Deployment and Support teams and assist with problem analysis where required;

• You review the IT systems and technology in use and report recommendations for improvements. You also review standard hardware, standard software and standard configurations for IT systems and technology to ensure these meet business requirements;

• You assist the Architecture team with the technical implementation design for the onboarding of new solutions from the innovation team where required;

• You maintain and improve systems for monitoring and maintenance of the IT infrastructure landscape;

• You create and update procedure and work instruction documentation for the standard configurations, deployment and support of IT systems and technology.

Your track record

• You have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field;

• You have at least 5 years of experience of working in systems design and support, enterprise application and infrastructure;

• Qualifications related to Windows server administration, VMWare, vSAN/vSphere virtualisation, Azure cloud administration, Ansible automation and PowerShell scripting, are seen as a plus;

• You possess the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment;

• You are pro-active, dynamic, dedicated and responsible. You also have strong customer orientation capabilities, strong communication skills and good conceptual and analytical skills;

• You have excellent English language skills, both written and oral.

The Operational Technology (OT) Services team is part of Fugro’s global IT Infrastructure and Security team. At OT Services we provide IT support to facilitate Fugro’s vessels and field operations, remote operations and processing of Geo-data collected during those operations. Within OT Services, the Deployment and Operations Support team coordinates and executes full scale deployment of IT infrastructure onboard Fugro's marine vessels operating globally, and provides 24/7 IT operations support. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic IT System Engineer to expand our Deployment and Operations Support team in the Netherlands.
