IT Systems Engineer

For our HQ, we are looking for an IT Systems Engineer. In this role, you will be part of the team that keeps Fugro’s global marine operations running. Our vessels and remote field environments rely on well designed IT systems, and we are looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer who knows how to operate in this setting. 

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in IT support or senior system administration. In this role, you will contribute directly to the IT backbone that enables our vessels, remote operations and geodata workflows to operate safely and efficiently around the world. You will be working in a dynamic environment that offers plenty of variety across our global operations, keeping the work engaging and diverse.

Your role 

• You implement automation of IT infrastructure deployment workflows; 

• You collaborate with the architecture team on onboarding new innovations and implementing new technical designs; 

• You work closely with the deployment team to ensure systems can be efficiently provisioned using standard configurations that meet project requirements; 

• You support the support team by ensuring systems are designed to be maintainable and supportable in operational environments; 

• You maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and online communities to stay up-to-date with emerging IT systems and technologies; 

• You provide technical expertise and guidance to deployment and support teams and assist with problem analysis when needed; 

• You review current IT systems and technologies and recommend improvements. You also review standard hardware, software and configurations to ensure they meet business needs; 

• You assist the architecture team with technical implementation designs for onboarding new solutions from the innovation team. 

• You maintain and improve monitoring and maintenance systems for the IT infrastructure landscape; 

• You create and update procedures and work instructions for standard configurations, deployment and support of IT systems and technology; 

Your track record 

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; 

• You bring at least 5 years of experience in systems design, enterprise applications, infrastructure and hands‑on support; 

• You have experience or certifications in Windows Server administration, VMware, vSAN/vSphere, Azure cloud administration, Ansible automation and PowerShell scripting; 

• You can prioritize and plan complex work in a fast‑changing environment; 

• You are proactive, dynamic, responsible and customer‑focused, with strong communication, conceptual and analytical skills; 

• You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
