IT Systems Administrator

The IT Systems Administrator is a direct report to Director of IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security and will have primary responsibility for supporting maintenance activities in a Microsoft Active Directory and Office 365 environment. You will be working on maintaining our environment to ensure Shields infrastructure is reliable and has the appropriate security safeguards in place enabling certification with HITRUST.

The role will also heavily focus on IT Operations day to day tasks including, reporting, metrics, execution in accordance with patching program, roll-out of software configurations and help-desk ticket trending deep dives.

The role will focus on ensuring that all Shields infrastructure is secure and aligns the organization to achieve HITRUST certification and HIPAA compliance. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge with administering production and non-production systems hosted in local and private cloud data centers, administration of active directory, and ability to automate standard build capabilities for servers, applications, and patching. The candidate should also have experience with Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams. You will also work closely with the rest of Shields IT team to lead and collaborate on future state architecture projects, including enhanced our cloud practice.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ability to understand the technical environment and put a Key Performance Indicators and reporting program in place

• Active directory management including Group Policy creation, debugging issues with user accounts

• Experience with automated monitoring, configuration, and patching technologies

• Execute patching

• Experience and understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP

• Administration of SFTP services

• Administration of backup and recovery platform

• Participate in investigation of cyber security incidents

• Assist remediation efforts for our vulnerability management program with emphasis on measurable goals which reflect progress in maturing Shields Microsoft security posture

• Execute deployment of endpoint protection with AV deployments and updates

• Ability to learn scripting in PowerShell

• Exposure to VMware vSphere and managing compute allocations

• Understanding of Windows server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019

• Solid understanding of Windows 10

• Working knowledge of security hardening for Windows server and Windows workstation

• Device management with Intune

• Level 3 Help Desk tickets and escalations

Previous Experience

· 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree; Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred

· 2+ years hands on Microsoft System Administration is required

· Microsoft technical certifications or related are strongly preferred

· Understanding of Information Security frameworks with relevant domain and tool exposure

· Understanding of security best practices

· Ability to communicate effectively across functional areas
