You'll own core infrastructure hands-on, from identity and endpoints to backups and disaster recovery, and you'll support the people building and running Canvas, Mastery, and Parchment. This is a mid-level, individual-contributor role for someone who likes solving problems at the keyboard and takes pride in uptime.
What you'll do.Administer core systems. Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID, including users, groups, and access.
Keep the lights on. Own patching, endpoint management, and monitoring across the fleet to maximize uptime.
Protect student and business data. Run backups, test disaster recovery, and follow security and privacy practices that meet education standards such as FERPA.
Support the product teams. Keep the tools and environments behind Canvas, Mastery, and Parchment running smoothly for the people who build them.
Automate the routine. Write scripts (PowerShell or similar) to cut manual work and reduce errors.
Support the team. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and document what you fix.
Three to five years administering enterprise systems and networks.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
Working knowledge of virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, and endpoint management.
Scripting skills for automation, such as PowerShell or Bash.
An understanding of data privacy and security, and why it matters in education technology.
Clear communication and a habit of documenting your work.
Experience supporting a software or SaaS company, ideally in education technology.
Familiarity with Canvas, Mastery, or Parchment, or other learning and credentialing platforms.
Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or VMware.
