How We Work • We ship before we're 100% certain. We write things down because we have two offices and memory is lossy. We debate loudly and move without resentment. We treat the customer's real problem as more important than an elegant internal process. If you've spent time waiting for permission to try something obvious - you'll notice the difference here immediately.
As the IT Support Engineer, you don't wait for someone to tell you something is broken. Your role is to help keep our day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Yes, you'll handle the things you'd expect from IT Support: user access, password resets, workstations, software, printers, connectivity, peripherals and everyday technical issues.
But we're not looking for someone who spends the entire shift waiting for a ticket or Teams message to arrive. We want someone who gets ahead of the problem.
If employees are coming in tomorrow, don't wait until tomorrow to discover that a workstation won't boot. Check it today.
If a printer, meeting-room setup, Wi-Fi connection or shared device keeps causing problems, don't wait for the next person to complain about it.
If equipment or supplies are running low, don't wait until we've completely run out. Raise it before it becomes a problem.
That's what good IT Support looks like to us.
It means paying attention to the environment even when nobody is asking you for anything.
It means noticing patterns.
It means asking questions when something doesn't look right.
And it means taking responsibility for an issue until you're confident it's actually been addressed.
What you'll actually be doing: You'll support employees with the everyday technology they need to do their jobs.
That includes things like:
- Creating and resetting user accounts and passwords
- Troubleshooting laptops, desktops and peripherals
- Helping with software and access issues
- Supporting printers and other shared office equipment
- Troubleshooting basic Wi-Fi and connectivity problems
- Setting up equipment for new employees
- Checking workstations and equipment before they're needed
- Keeping track of IT equipment, supplies and recurring issues
- Performing routine checks instead of waiting for users to discover problems
- Escalating more complex infrastructure or network problems when necessary - but with useful information about what you've already checked
You'll primarily be supporting our night-shift operations, so you need to be comfortable working nights and communicating clearly with employees who need assistance.
What we're looking for
You don't need to be the most senior Network Engineer in the room.
You don't need an impressive collection of certifications.
And we don't expect you to know how to solve every technical problem on Day 1.
We can teach technical processes. What we're much more interested in is how you work.
We're looking for someone who:
- Communicates well in English
- Is comfortable working the night shift
- Has a good foundation in IT support and troubleshooting
- Can follow a problem through instead of immediately passing it to somebody else
- Pays attention to what's happening around them
- Doesn't need to be continuously told what to check or what to do next
- Learns quickly when they encounter something unfamiliar
- Notices repetitive problems and asks why they keep happening
- Takes care of things before they become somebody else's problem
When everything is working, and there are no tickets, no messages and nobody currently needs your help, your job isn't to sit and wait for something to break.
Look around.
Are the workstations ready?
Are there devices that have been behaving strangely?
Are printers working?
Are there recurring issues from the previous shifts that nobody has permanently addressed?
Is there equipment that needs attention?
Are there simple checks or tasks we keep doing manually that could be done better?
Find something useful to improve.
You may start with relatively simple IT Support responsibilities, but we want someone who can eventually look at the environment and independently recognize: “This could become a problem. I should deal with it now.”
You won't always know the answer and that's okay.
What matters is what you do next.
We don't expect you to magically know how to solve every unfamiliar issue.
We do expect you to investigate, ask sensible questions, check what you can, use the resources available to you, communicate clearly and keep working the problem instead of becoming stuck because there isn't a step-by-step instruction telling you what to do.
Knowing when you genuinely need help is also part of good judgment.
Before you apply, ask yourself:
When work is quiet, do I naturally look for what else needs attention - or do I wait for someone to give me something to do?
When the same problem keeps happening, do I simply fix it again - or do I start wondering why it keeps happening?
When I notice something isn't right, do I take ownership - even if nobody specifically assigned it to me?
If that sounds like how you already work, we'd like to meet you.
