The Red Hat IT Support team is seeking an IT Support Intern to join our global support team. In this role, you will provide technical support to Red Hat associates, primarily at the Tier 0 level. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations by troubleshooting hardware, software, audio/video, and network connectivity issues—both remotely and in person. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to maintain a high level of associate satisfaction and will report into the IT Global Enterprise Support Regional Manager.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is February 1st.
What you will do
Be a responsible party for day to day IT support and serve as a point of contact for internal customers regarding IT issues, requests, and queries
Proactively monitor ticket queues, Chat and Phone to provide support to Red Hat associates
Perform core competencies of triage, assignment, request fulfillment, and issue remediation
Provide general IT support; troubleshoot IT-related problems
Work within the ITSM system to ensure all tickets are responded to and updated per process for the benefit of the customer
Provide exceptional professional customer service to our internal RedHat associates in all interactions
Provide support for a far ranging list of technologies including: Linux, Microsoft and Mac OS, Google productivity suite including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Blue Jeans Meetings, Desk phones, mobile devices, WIFI etc.
Support business meetings including Audio visual needs and conference room AV equipment
Work closely with your peers across the globe in ensuring the GES IT Support organisation provides a consistent global support experience
What you will bring
You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
Customer service skills / Ability to fulfill the role as a customer advocate
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced support environment with shifting priorities
Willingness to work in a highly collaborative team
Technical troubleshooting skills
The ability to learn new technologies quickly
Process and procedure driven while still being able to maintain an innovative mindset
Technical knowledge of Linux, Microsoft, Apple OS is a plus
