Job Description
Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
The role
As an IT Support Assistant you will provide first-line IT technical support to end users. You will be responsible for reporting any systems issues within the Fugro IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with the local IT Support Administrator, internal and external IT service providers, and relevant business stakeholders to provide an effective IT helpdesk service.
You will use your technical expertise to resolve helpdesk tickets by providing technical solutions. Additionally, you will share knowledge of IT systems and good working practices, document policies, procedures, configurations, and training materials, and ensure systems are up-to-date and adhere to security best practices.
You will suggest improvements to IT systems and services, conduct evaluations of existing services to ensure they are appropriate and fit for purpose, and train staff in the use of IT systems. You will ensure proposed and existing services align with organisational goals and objectives and may be involved in visiting other Fugro sites to perform support and systems improvement tasks. Supporting and encouraging continuous improvement of the company’s processes, including Fugro’s safety program, is also a key part of the role.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate technical issues as required. You should be willing to learn, hard-working, flexible, able to multitask, cope well under pressure, able to prioritise, and able to follow processes and guidelines.
You will be proactive in suggesting and implementing improvements to IT systems and services and have the ability to conduct training sessions for staff. A willingness to travel to Fugro sites and a commitment to supporting continuous improvement processes are also required.
A qualification in IT/Computing would be desirable, but not essential.
What we offer:
Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.
- Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.
- Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme.
- Flexible working hours and the potential to work 2 days a week from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies (after initial probation period).
- Option to lease an electric car.
- Private Medical Cover.
