Overview
This is an onsite role at our Goodyear, AZ facility. Our IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the primary local hands-on support for all IT and network, from construction/build-out through to full operations and steady-state. You'll work closely with onsite teams (construction, operations, physical security) while collaborating with a remote IT/Security engineering team for advanced support. The role includes participating in a primary responder rotation to ensure 24/7 infrastructure monitoring and rapid incident response.
Key Responsibilities
- Support new building launches - hands-on support during construction and new site deployments
- Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for IT and networking, providing direct support to facilities, physical security, construction crews, and end-users while escalating complex matters to remote engineering teams.
- Participate in a 24/7 primary responder on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights, to monitor data center infrastructure and coordinate rapid incident response.
- Work independently and collaboratively to prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and react quickly to operational issues.
- Audit, manage, and track hardware assets (firewalls, routers, switches, servers, cameras, badge readers, bio-readers, electronic key management, etc.) throughout their lifecycle—from procurement to disposal in CMMS.
- Develop MOPs/SOPs/EOPs in accordance with Change management policies
- Coordinate with the Procurement team to create and process purchase orders for IT/ Security hardware and software, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and budgets.
- Process IT asset requests, validate needs, and update asset records.
- Maintain relationships with IT/networking vendors.
- Ensure secure disposal or recycling of retired IT assets in compliance with environmental and data security regulations.
- Generate regular reports and analytics on asset utilization, costs, and compliance for management review.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including purchase invoices, warranties, maintenance agreements, and onsite critical spares inventory.
- Provide onsite and remote support for new builds, system troubleshooting, server patching, and software upgrades.
- Support Building Management System (BMS) and communication alarm efforts when possible, partnering with Facility Operations to help troubleshoot, monitor, and resolve BMS and communication alarm issues onsite.
- Coordinate shipping/receiving, rack and stack equipment, and support the deployment of security and IT infrastructure at new sites.
- Install and configure server OS and vendor applications (e.g., Lenel OnGuard, Milestone VMS, Key Watcher) and set up databases in collaboration with DBA teams.
- Configure networks, including VLANs, firewall exceptions, for all onsite equipment (UPS, PDUs, cameras, etc.)
- IP address assignments for all equipment.
- Port configuration for network jacks and WAP installation and setup for work areas.
- Work closely with corporate Network, Systems, Cloud, and Application Engineers, as well as Facility Operations, Security, and Procurement teams.
- Document and maintain clear, concise internal and customer communications.
- Travel within and outside the regional work area as required ~10%.
- Meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 40 pounds (and group lifts for heavier items), working in cramped/elevated/noisy environments, and standing/walking for extended periods.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of IT or related experience.
- Proven experience in IT asset management and procurement.
- Strong knowledge of hardware and software products, licensing agreements, and compliance.
- Proficiency with asset tracking and change management tools.
- Familiar with methods of procedures
- Comfortable working in a construction environment (dust, noise, active build sites) during initial phases.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT Asset Management certification (e.g., ITIL).
- Experience in the data center industry.
- Experience supporting IT/Physical Security during facility construction or new builds.
- Familiarity with physical security systems and peripheral devices (access control, CCTV, badge readers).
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and communication alarm platforms.
- Certifications like CompTIA Security+, Network+, or vendor-specific (e.g., Lenel, Milestone)

The pay range for this role is between $95,000 – 115,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
