ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Specialist supports and serves as the main technical expert in the implementation, management, and support of all hardware and software including SaaS applications, as well minimal work in the maintenance of networks, servers, and break-fix of end-user computer systems.
 

ACCOUNTABLE FOR

The core responsibility of the IT Specialist is to provide the delivery of service management to EOS Energy Storage main site in New Jersey along with all virtual workforce. The support will include account management, management of computer systems, printer & scanner maintenance, and other simple to complex assignments. The role will be required to be onsite at EOS corporate location in Edison, NJ with potential travel to the other EOS Energy sites.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide multitude level of support for all EOS Energy employees, contractors, and/or temps in support of software and hardware, but are not limited to, answering an array of technical general questions to more complex issues of the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of applications and hardware that are standard within the Eos environment.
  • Maintain record of support transactions through the Manage Engine SDP ticketing system for various problems and actions taken which includes documenting description issues, email communications, updates, and resolution steps. Act as liaison with staff to assure accurate problem interpretation and maintain communication during problem resolution process.
  • Conduct computer diagnostics to investigate, plan and then resolve problems. Reimage of machines for either new deployments or redeployments. Responsible for the staging, configuration, deployment, and installation of equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for the basic to intermediate assessment and support of network equipment connectivity; trouble shooting of switches, access points, and firewall ensuring the continuous availability of technology resources.
  • Execute best practice in support of security protocol for account management, privilege/access control, data handling and sharing, site access security, and exposure of confidential information. 
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the datacenter to ensure continuity of systems operations and take appropriate action of any failures/issues.
  • Assist in project planning and implementation for specialized projects tasks for hardware upgrades, software upgrades, data backups, or infrastructure upgrades as assigned,
  • Demonstrate high level of customer service, providing professionalism and proper communication dealing with all users at EOS Energy,

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On call if/when required for after hours or weekend work
  • Lifting heavy equipment as needed and at times assisted
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 3+ years’ experience in IT support role with basic to intermediate experience in systems and networking methodologies (TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP)
  • Proven track record of success in installation, maintenance and upgrades of windows-based software
  • Solid understanding of Windows PC environment – Version 7+
  • Office 365 experience preferred
  • Active Directory experienced with understanding of GPO required
  • Windows Server 2012 and higher
  • Basic networking skills and knowledge of basic server environment methodology is a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills, time management, and the sense of urgency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4-year college technical degree or equivalent technical experience/certification
  • This includes formal and informal training programs, vocational/technical schools, college/university, and any other specialized training, certifications, or licenses
  • 2 years of experience minimum
