Primary Function 

The IT Specialist is responsible for supporting end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive and service-oriented manner. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the transportation services for Unaccompanied Children (UC) and Family Units (FAMU) in setting up, management, and maintenance of IT-related equipment. 

 

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Actively support and uphold the Company’s stated vision, mission and values. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Serves as IT liaison with contractor’s corporate office. 

  • Troubleshoots and resolves IT issues impacting local contract performance. 

  • Supports technical, systems and database management. 

  • Training staff with IT related equipment. 

  • Assist with the troubleshooting, installation, and implementation of systems. 

  • Other duties as assigned to support Site Manager and Program Manager. 

 

Job Requirements 

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (an associate degree with two or more years of extra relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, or more than four years of related experience may be substituted for a degree). 

  • Have at least two years or more of documented experience in a field related to information technology support, system/database development or management, or similar occupational area; and (a minimum of four years of experience is required when an associate’s degree with two or more years of relevant experience is substituted for a bachelor’s degree or 6 years of experience in a related field when four years of experience is substituted for a degree). 

  • Demonstrate experience applicable to the goals and objectives of this requirement and appropriate for a similar program environment.  

  • Clean criminal background check, a favorable credit check, and no prior drug use. 

  • Psychological, honesty/integrity validation pre-employment screening and annual re-screening. 

  • Must be proficient in English; able to receive and understand detailed information through oral and written communication. 

  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills. 

  • Must be proficient with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office suite. 

  • Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations. 

  • Must be able to work full time hours, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 

  • Must be a US citizen. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 2-3 years’ IT experience 

  • ORR or ICE experience 

  • CPR/First Aid certification 

 

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions 

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time in an office environment. 

  • Must be able to lift, bend, and stoop up to 50 lbs. 

  • Must be able to travel as needed.
