Position Summary
As an IT Specialist at IDEAL, you will be responsible for supporting and managing our cloud and on-premise MIS infrastructure including support for our Infor Visual ERP system, maintaining SQL Server and databases, developing Crystal Reports, implementing and maintaining our CMMC compliance program, and managing export controls security. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and process improvement capabilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Management- Manage and support cloud-based and on-premise IT infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies
- Ensure high availability and reliability of business-critical systems
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Provide technical support to ERP users and resolve system issues
- Coordinate with ERP administrators and consultants for system maintenance and upgrades
- Monitor ERP system performance and work with vendors to resolve technical issues
- Maintain ERP system documentation and technical specifications
- Support ERP integrations with other business systems
- Act as the primary point of contact for managing third-party IT resources and contractors
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by external technology vendors
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service level agreements are met
- Manage technology procurement processes and vendor relationships
- Facilitate communication between vendors and internal stakeholders
- Support and maintain SQL Server instances and databases
- Perform database monitoring, backups, and routine maintenance
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues
- Implement data security measures and access controls
- Coordinate with database administrators as needed for complex issues
- Develop and maintain Crystal Reports for various business departments
- Design custom reports to meet specific business requirements
- Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and implement solutions
- Document reporting solutions and maintain report library
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of our Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures in line with CMMC requirements
- Manage export controls security requirements and ITAR compliance for IT systems
- Perform regular security assessments and remediate identified vulnerabilities
- Prepare documentation for compliance audits and certification
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on export control matters
- Stay current on CMMC standards and ensure ongoing compliance
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Manage IT asset inventory and lifecycle management
- Participate in IT project planning and implementation
- Document IT processes and procedures
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Support both facility-based and remote employees
- Experience with Infor Visual ERP or similar manufacturing ERP systems
- Proficiency in SQL Server database management and troubleshooting
- Experience with Crystal Reports development and implementation
- Knowledge of CMMC requirements and cybersecurity best practices
- Understanding of export controls (ITAR/EAR) and related IT security requirements
- Experience managing third-party vendors and contractors
- Experience in defense manufacturing or ITAR-compliant environments
- Infor Visual ERP technical training or certification
- Microsoft SQL Server certification
- CMMC certification or related cybersecurity credentials (CISSP, Security+, CAP, etc.)
- Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Project management experience
- Experience with PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflows
- Previous experience in a growing or rapidly scaling organization
